What Kind Of Animals Are In Mesa Verde

Horse Four Close Up
First with a rare sighting of Ute wild horses, last calendar week's trip to Mesa Verde was the most beautiful and captivating even so.  Nosotros took our time over several days, did our ain cocky-guided tours with no existent plan and had gobs ofwildlife sightings.  The weather was merely beginning to cool into the mid-70s, with autumn right around the corner.  Gorgeous crisp bluish sky days.  Mayhap because we dawdled, just got lucky or both, hither is a photo essay of the animals we encountered, and natural beauty of the park …

Eifert Painting Close Up

This beautiful painting byLarry Eifert is on display at Chapin Museum (located on the lower east side of the park by Bandbox Tree Business firm) and has a key to place plants and wild animals.  The rangers and guides are also well educated and can answer most any question you may take.

Mesa Verde is a bucket list item we'll be revisiting and checking off yr after year.  How lucky we are that information technology's in our own back yard.

Happy discoveries!

Mesa Verde Notice on Observing Wild fauna:

Remember that these are wild animals roaming freely in their natural habitat. Feeding these creatures is non only illegal, it is also harmful to their health. Use your binoculars and take pictures when y'all can, just keep your distance from them. At night one of these animals might scurry across the road in front of your car, and then bulldoze slowly and carefully.
